Salvatore E. Cherenzia, IV
Director of Operations
Sam graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1999 with B.S. in Civil Engineering. He has continued his education receiving a Masters concentrating in business from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2006. He has performed as a project superintendent since his graduation in 1999. He has completed numerous projects at Pfizer in Groton. Sam has also supervised all of our in house development projects that were performed on a design-build basis. Sam has excelled at completing important projects on time and on budget. Sam exhibits the values of hard work and excellence that will propel this family owned business into the next generation. Thomas J. Liguori, Jr.
House Counsel and Treasurer
Mr. Liguori is the chief legal officer of the Cherenzia Companies. Having concentrated his legal practice in the areas of land use planning and permitting, he has represented numerous individual and entities before municipal, legislative and regulatory bodies, as well as trial and appellate courts. This experience has been utilized in representing both clients of the Cherenzia Companies, and them directly in their real estate development, including acquisition, permitting, financing, construction and sales with respect to hundreds of residential subdivision lots, homes, and townhouse condominiums. The Rhode Island Bar Association awarded him its 2011 Dorothy Lohmann Award for Community Service. Mr. Liguori earned his BA degree with distinction from University of Rhode Island and his J.D. degree from Catholic University. He is a frequent lecturer and writer on land use and permitting issues.

Mary D. Buck
Chief Financial Officer
Mary D. Buck began with the Cherenzia Companies in 1973. She has had the privilege to assist in the growth of the Cherenzia Companies, working to help them grow from a small family owned businesses with less than twenty employees to their present status. She has filled many roles over the years. Currently, as the Chief Financial Officer, Mary’s principal responsibilities include managing the daily finances of Cherenzia Excavation, Inc and supervise all other Administrative departments. Robert Ferreira
Vice President of Construction Contracts
Rob was hired in 1987 as a machine operator. Over the past twenty-eight years he has steadily gained responsibilities and is now the General Superintendent of Cherenzia Excavation, Inc. Rob’s associate’s degree in surveying has helped him stay current with the new technology necessary to compete in today’s construction world. Rob is in charge of all men and equipment in our fleet. His responsibilities include jobsite logistics, organization, project layout, equipment and manpower utilization. He schedules the delivery of materials and equipment to the job sites and handles all onsite job labor relations. Rob plays a key role in the smooth day-to- day operation of the company. Kathie L. Kallen
Legal Assistant
Kathie joined the Cherenzia team as legal assistant in 2010, having previously worked for Tom Liguori in his private law practice for over 15 years. She is especially adept at managing the communication between Cherenzia representatives, its clients, and governmental and private entities. With a career spanning many years, Kathie is personally familiar with the workings and personnel of the region’s municipalities, financial institutions, design professionals, and law offices. Mary Cherenzia
Human Resources & Payroll Manager
Mary Cherenzia began with the Cherenzia Companies in 1987. Initially, she started with us as the Receptionist. As the Companies grew, she advanced into the role of a Personal Assistant. For the past twenty years, she has been the Human Resources and Payroll Manager. Mary provides human resource services to over 95 employees from Cherenzia Excavation and Cherenzia & Associates. She is responsible for labor relations, benefit administration, payroll services and organizing health and safety training. Antonio Spera
Project Manager / Estimator
Tony has been a member of the Cherenzia team since 1999. He has 28 years of construction experience including work at Millstone Nuclear Power Station, DOT road work, and various commercial and industrial projects. Tony is in charge of procurement of site construction projects and their successful completion. Tony’s DOT experience adds to the company’s ability to complete any project on time and on budget.
